Upon arriving at Shangrao Railway Station, our local driver will greet you at the exit and escort you to Wangxian Valley—often hailed as a "real-life version of a fantasy world" (approximately 50 km away, a 1.5-hour drive). Once there, our tour guide will assist you with check-in, allowing you to rest and recharge your energy.
Recommended travel methods: You can take high-speed trains from several major cities in China to reach Shangrao directly. Options include Shanghai (2.5–3 hours, chosen by 80% of tourists), Hangzhou (2 hours), Nanchang (1 hour), Jingdezhen (1 hour), Beijing (8 hours), and Xi'an (8.5 hours).
After a short break, take advantage of the pleasant daytime light to explore Wangxian Valley in full. The architecture here is highly distinctive—compacted earth walls, dark gray tiles, and narrow alleys all embody the distinct characteristics of the Gan-style (Huizhou-style) architecture, representing the quintessential traditional dwellings of northeastern Jiangxi.
Strolling through the village, one can encounter local handicrafts such as bamboo weaving and wood carving everywhere, each embodying the warmth of skilled artisans' hands. The narrow alleys also conceal authentic Jiangxi snacks—steaming hot soup noodles and tender tofu pudding; sitting down to enjoy a bowl of these dishes is truly delightful.
Looking for some excitement? Try the glass walkway built over a steep canyon—it stands nearly 100 meters above the ground, with rushing rapids below and layered mountain ranges on the opposite side. The view is breathtaking, offering such an expansive panorama that it'll make your heart race.
The valley boasts abundant springs, with Wangxian Waterfall and the Three-tiered Waterfall cascading one after another, their murmuring waters creating a refreshing atmosphere. Most surprisingly, this picturesque landscape was once an abandoned quarry. Who would have thought that what was once a stone pit had transformed into a true earthly paradise?
As dusk fell, Wangxian Valley truly came to life. The houses nestled against the mountainsides were illuminated by warm yellow lights that stretched from the foothills all the way to the summit; viewed from afar, they resembled celestial palaces hidden in mythology.
This scene evokes the poem "Staying at a Mountain Temple at Night" by Li Bai, a Tang Dynasty poet from China: "The tower stands a hundred feet high; with one's hand, one can pluck stars. One dares not speak loudly, fearing to disturb the celestial beings." It describes a tower hundreds of feet tall where reaching out seems enough to pick stars, and speaking aloud is avoided lest it disturbs the immortals residing in heaven.
As you stroll along the mountain trail, you'll feel as if you've stepped into a world of martial arts—tea houses hang on the cliffsides, waterfalls cascade down from great heights, and the sound of flowing water intertwines with playfully shifting light. With a bit of luck, you might even encounter a street performance or a segment of traditional sword dance; in that moment, you'll truly have the illusion of traveling back to ancient China's martial arts realm.
Tip: Nighttime is the perfect time to photograph Wangxian Valley—buildings on the cliffs are outlined by lights, making every shot a stunning photo. Make sure your phone is fully charged to avoid regrets.

Day2 Journey from Shangrao to Jingdezhen: Ancient Kiln Folk Culture Expo Area + DIY Pottery Making Experience + Taoxichuan Cultural and Creative District

After breakfast, we will drive to Jingdezhen, the world-famous "Porcelain Capital" with a thousand-year ceramic history, which takes approximately 3 hours. The air here seems to be permeated with the fragrance of clay and glaze.

Upon arrival in Jingdezhen, we will first visit the **Ancient Kilns & Folk Customs Expo Area**, a national AAAAA-level cultural park dedicated to displaying traditional porcelain-making techniques. Wandering among the restored ancient kilns dating back to the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, you can watch craftsmen performing the entire porcelain-making process including wheel-throwing, trimming, carving, painting, glazing and firing. Every procedure embodies exquisite craftsmanship that is truly captivating.

DIY Pottery Experience
You can join a DIY pottery course. Under the guidance of professional instructors, sit at the pottery wheel and experience the process of clay spinning and taking shape in your palms. Even if the bowl you make turns out slightly irregular, it will be a unique piece exclusive to you in the world.
Afterwards, explore the **Taoxichuan Cultural and Creative Block**, renovated from old porcelain factories. Lined with galleries, art studios, design boutiques and cafes, it is an ideal destination to appreciate modern ceramic works, meet young ceramic artists and pick up unique and heartfelt souvenirs.

Taoxichuan boasts stunning night views. The chimneys and red brick walls of the old factory buildings present a distinctive charm under the lights. You may stay until evening if your schedule permits.

Day3 Jingdezhen-Wuyuan-Huangshan Tour: China Ceramic Museum + Huangling Village

This morning, you will first visit the China Ceramic Museum. The China Ceramic Museum is the most authoritative and comprehensive ceramic-themed museum in China, as well as a national first-class museum. With over 50,000 exhibits ranging from simple pottery vessels from the Neolithic Age to Tang Dynasty tri-colored ceramics, Song Dynasty celadon ware, Yuan Dynasty blue-and-white porcelain, and rare treasures from Ming and Qing imperial kilns, it provides a clear and comprehensive overview of the history of Chinese ceramics. After touring the museum, you will understand why Jingdezhen is hailed as the world's "Porcelain Capital."
Visiting Tips: The China Ceramic Museum is closed on Mondays. Inside, there is an unexpected internet sensation—the "Silent Buddha," whose real name is the "Meditating Arhat," a work by ceramic sculptor Zeng Longsheng from the 1930s. Its expression, as if "silent in response to the world," has unexpectedly made it a social media sensation. Don't forget to greet its "neighbors" —the "Hand-Reaching Arhat" (colloquially called the "Happy Arhat" by netizens, with hands spread in a gesture symbolizing peace) and the "Long-Browed Arhat" (nicknamed the "Long-Browed Arhat" for its long eyebrows, combining wisdom and humor). These adorable nicknames given by netizens have instantly made these ancient arhat statues feel more approachable.
After visiting the Ceramic Museum, take a bus for approximately two hours to Huangling Village in Wuyuan County, Jiangxi Province.
[Huangling Village] has a vivid nickname— "Cliff Village" —as the entire settlement is built on a cliff face, with Huizhou-style architecture featuring white walls and black tiles arranged in a harmonious pattern. Its most famous tradition is "fall drying": during harvest season, villagers air red peppers, yellow corn, and golden grains under eaves and on drying racks, creating a vibrant scene that seems to flow naturally from the rustic village landscape.
The village is surrounded by tiered terraced fields. In spring, rapeseed flowers blanket the slopes like a golden sea; in other seasons, the fields take on different hues, never becoming monotonous no matter how you view them. Many photography enthusiasts have hailed this place as "the most beautiful countryside in China," where even a casual shot resembles a postcard.
After the tour, take a bus for approximately 1.5 hours to Huangshan City to check in and rest.

Day4: One-day tour of Huangshan Mountain – Hongcun Village + Huangshan Scenic Area

After breakfast, you will be taken on a tour of the picturesque Hongcun Village. [Hongcun] is the most representative ancient village in southern Anhui of China and a renowned World Heritage site, celebrated for its typical micro-style architecture, unique water system layout, and profound historical culture, earning it the reputation of "a village from a Chinese painting." The village preserves approximately 140 well-preserved ancient residences from the Ming and Qing dynasties, scattered harmoniously throughout its streets. Most feature white walls, black tiles, horse-head walls, and intricately carved beams and painted rafters, resembling a living scroll of Huizhou art. The serene water landscape imbues the entire village with a sense of tranquility, while painted bridges span the lake, creating a captivating interplay of light and shadow. You are invited to stroll through this ink-wash-inspired ancient village and visit popular attractions such as Nanhu Academy, Chengzhi Hall, the Wang Family Ancestral Hall, ancient trees, Yuezhao Pond, and Nanhu Lake.
After lunch, you will travel by vehicle to Huangshan, one of China's renowned Five Great Mountains. Huangshan is not only a site of World Natural and Cultural Heritage but also an outstanding representative of China's magnificent landscapes and splendid culture. It is famous for its "Five Wonders" —unique pines, bizarre rocks, sea of clouds, hot springs, and winter snow—as well as its "Five Treasures" —historical relics, calligraphy and painting, literature, legends, and notable figures—and enjoys the reputation of being "the most extraordinary mountain under heaven." The saying "After visiting the Five Great Mountains, no other mountains are worth seeing; after visiting Huangshan, no other peaks are worthy of admiration" epitomizes the highest praise for this mountain.
Here's a recommended tour route for today's visit to Huangshan: Yun Valley Cable Car → Shixin Peak → Paiyun Pavilion → Bright Summit → Feilai Stone. The entire walk covers approximately 6 kilometers and takes about 5 hours.
To maximize the value of your time and energy while enjoying Huangshan's breathtaking scenery, we will arrange for you to take a sightseeing bus from the foot of Huangshan Mountain to Yungu Temple, then ride the cable car to Bai' eling Station (an 8-minute journey). As the cable car ascends, you'll overlook majestic mountain ranges and swirling clouds, creating a fairy-tale-like atmosphere. Along the way, you'll also encounter uniquely shaped pine trees and peculiar rocks, offering a distinctive perspective on Huangshan's extraordinary beauty.
Upon arriving at Bai 'eling Station, you will embark on a captivating hiking journey to Shixin Peak. Along the way, you'll pass scenic spots such as Black Tiger Pine, Harp Pine, and Jointed Pine, offering breathtaking views perfect for photography. You'll also encounter diverse and striking rock formations that showcase nature's remarkable craftsmanship, providing an unparalleled experience. From the summit of Shixin Peak, you'll enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding magnificent mountain landscape.
After enjoying the stunning views of Shixin Peak, you will walk for approximately 40 minutes to reach the summit hotel for rest.
After a short rest, you can choose to enjoy the breathtaking sunset views from either the Paiyun Pavilion or the higher Bright Summit. The Paiyun Pavilion derives its name from the way clouds and mist rise and roll over the West Sea before dissipating upon reaching the stone pavilion; here, visitors can admire magnificent landscapes including a sea of clouds, evening glow, unique peaks, and serene valleys—particularly enchanting during sunset when the sky is filled with rosy hues. The journey back from the Paiyun Pavilion to the hotel takes approximately 30 minutes. The Bright Summit (at an altitude of about 1,860 meters) is one of Huangshan Mountain's main peaks and also its second-highest point; it offers views of a cloud sea, distinctive pines, remarkable rock formations, numerous peaks, as well as sunrise and sunset scenes, with the sunset view featuring a sky ablaze with red clouds being especially spectacular. A hike from the Bright Summit back to the hotel takes roughly 40 minutes.
If you have the time and energy, consider extending your visit by an hour to hike to Tianhai Scenic Area and admire the Flying Stone—a renowned attraction on Huangshan Mountain. Standing approximately 12 meters tall and weighing 600 tons, it rests on a flat rock with minimal contact between its base and the surrounding rock, creating the illusion that it has fallen from the sky.

3. Accommodation Information: Staying overnight on Huangshan Mountain allows you more time to enjoy its stunning scenery, particularly sunrise views and sea of clouds. However, due to high transportation costs and limited hotel facilities—even star-rated hotels may not meet standards comparable to those in major cities like Shanghai—and combined with the humid climate, rooms may be somewhat damp. Day5 Huangshan Day Trip: Sunrise at Huangshan + Old Street of Tunxi

Recommended hiking route in Huangshan today: Sunrise → Xihai Grand Canyon → Lion Peak → Yun Valley Cable Car, covering approximately 5 kilometers on foot and taking about 4 hours.
This morning (typically between 5 and 6 a.m.), you can wake up early to witness the most spectacular natural wonder—the sunrise over Huangshan Mountain: as dawn breaks, the eastern sky gradually takes on a pale white hue, followed by a rosy glow at the horizon; the first light of day illuminates the Danxia landforms, creating a breathtaking spectacle. (Note: 1. Temperatures in the mountains are very low in the early morning; please dress warmly. 2. Sunrise visibility may vary depending on weather conditions and season.) After enjoying the sunrise, return to the hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, head to the magical Xihai Grand Canyon, which boasts spectacular canyon landscapes, unique rock formations, and enchanting sea of clouds – making it one of Huangshan's must-visit attractions. Notably, this hiking route can be customized according to your physical condition and available time. (Note: The trail is treacherous and challenging, requiring strong stamina; additionally, the canyon is typically closed during cold weather or heavy snow.) Next, visit Lion Peak (approximately 1,690 meters above sea level), named for its resemblance to a crouching lion – Qingliang Terrace forms the lion's waist while Shuguang Pavilion represents its tail – both ideal spots for witnessing Huangshan's breathtaking sunrises and cloud seas. At Lion Peak, you'll also encounter Monkey Watching the Sea, a iconic landmark featuring a lifelike stone monkey perched atop the summit, seemingly gazing into the distance or leaping to observe the clouds – a truly spectacular sight perfect for photography.
Next, walk to the Bai'eling Cable Car Station and take the Yungu Cable Car down the mountain. Our driver has already waited at the foot of the mountain to escort you back to Huangshan City.
Upon arriving in Huangshan City, you are encouraged to visit the Tunxi Old Street, renowned as "Today's Song City." It is one of the best-preserved ancient markets in China, showcasing distinct architectural styles from the Southern Song and Ming-Qing dynasties. With a history spanning several centuries, the street stretches 832 meters in length and measures 5 to 8 meters in width. The entire area consists of one main straight street, three side streets, and 18 alleys, forming a unique fish-skeleton layout. Strolling through it, visitors can admire the simple yet elegant Huizhou-style architecture, enjoy the picturesque ambiance of the ancient town, explore various shops with antique-style signs, and savor authentic Huizhou cuisine.
